O problema das EOAs

Ethereum tem dois tipos de account: Externally Owned Account (EOA — controlled by private key) e Contract Account (controlled by smart contract code). Historically, transactions só podem ser initiated by EOAs.

Limitações: EOAs requerem usuário gerenciar seed phrase, pagar gas em ETH, signing simples (não programável). No multisig nativo, no spending limits, no session keys, no gasless transactions, no recovery social. UX terrível para mainstream adoption.

ERC-4337: Account Abstraction off-chain

ERC-4337 (live em Ethereum desde 2023) introduz Account Abstraction sem requerer changes em protocol core. Mecânica: users criam 'smart contract accounts' (CAs) que se comportam como wallets. Transactions são submitted como 'UserOperations' através de alternative mempool processed by 'Bundlers' que collect UserOps e submit em batches via EntryPoint contract.

Features enabled: gasless transactions (paymaster pays for user), social recovery (multiple guardian addresses), session keys (temporary keys for specific apps com limited permissions), batch transactions (multiple actions em single UserOp), automated transactions (via session keys).

Adoption: cerca de 2-3 milhões de smart wallets ERC-4337 ativos em maio 2026, conforme Dune Analytics dashboards. Major wallets: Safe (Gnosis Safe), Argent, Ambire, Coinbase Smart Wallet, Soul Wallet.

EIP-7702: Account Abstraction nativa

EIP-7702 (proposed Vitalik em outubro 2024, included em Pectra hard fork maio 2025) introduce protocol-level mechanism: EOAs podem temporarily delegate behavior to smart contract code via 'authorization' field.

Diferente de ERC-4337 (que requires migration para CA), EIP-7702 deixa EOA como is, mas permite ela temporarily act like CA. Best of both worlds: existing EOAs (incluindo Metamask defaults) ganham AA features sem precisar migrate.

Adoption progressiva: post-Pectra, wallets como MetaMask, Rabby, Coinbase Wallet começaram integrating EIP-7702 features. Em maio 2026, cerca de 12 milhões de EOAs já delegated to AA contracts at least once.

ERC-4337 vs EIP-7702: trade-offs

ERC-4337: full smart contract account. Persistent state. Mais flexibility (any logic possible). Migration friction (precisa criar new account). Higher gas costs (UserOp + paymaster overhead).

EIP-7702: temporary delegation. EOA continues to exist. Pode delegate para different contracts em different transactions. Lower migration friction (existing accounts work). Limitations em multi-tx workflows.

Practical recommendation: para new users em 2026, ERC-4337 wallets (Argent, Safe, Coinbase Smart Wallet) offer best out-of-box AA experience. Para existing MetaMask users, EIP-7702 lets you opt-in to AA features without migration.

Casos de uso prática

Gasless onboarding: novo user receives tokens, can transact imediatamente sem precisar buy ETH para gas (paymaster covers, monetized via small premium ou subscription).

Session keys for gaming: gaming app gets session key with limited permissions (e.g., max 10 ETH per day, only callable to specific contracts). User pre-approves, then gaming runs smoothly sem signing each tx.

Riscos e limitations
